Usually there is one Chinese coin in money frog’s mouth. In feng shui, money frog is used to bring wealth.

Place it near the front door, positioned in lower level but not on the ground.

Or place it at one of the corners of the house (diagonal corner is the best), mouth facing the main door

For those have business/shop, they can place it near the cash register ( make sure its mouth is not facing the cash register)

For those who want to invite more wealth to the house, they can place as many (not more than 9 frogs) as three-legged toad (money frog) as they wish. They can be placed all over the living room, dining room or garden.

Feng shui is neither hard to implement or difficult to understand. As soon as you understand the basic principles, you’ll see that feng shui is a very sensible way to deal wit your relationship with your surroundings and your home.

The most important thing to remember is that the philosophy is based on living in harmony with your surroundings. While living in balance and equilibrium with the planet, its rivers and mountains, your life will feel calmer and more harmonious. Going against the grain, so to speak, causes more energy to be exerted and as a result the natural environment works against you.

So what can feng shui really do for you?

Kua Number

Every person has their own personal number in feng shui. This number is called the kua number and it is very easy to calculate. Once you know what your kua number is, you will be able to tell which directions are your personal good, or auspicious, and bad or inauspicious in your home.

There are two different formulas for working your Kua number, one for men and one for women.

For Men:-

Take the year of your birth and add the last two digits together. If the result is 10 or more, then you will need to add them together again until you get a single digit number.

Subtract this single digit number from 10 and this is your Kua Number.

For Women:-

Take the year of your birth, add the last two digits together until you get a single digit as above and then

Add this single digit number to 5

If your number is a double digit number then add the two together to get a single digit again and this is your Kua Number.

For this calculation to be correct, you have to take into consideration that the Chinese lunar New Year takes place at the beginning of February, so anyone who is born very early February or during January will have to use the year before as their birth year.

Once you know your Kua Number, you will need to refer to your own particular chart for auspicious and inauspicious locations. This will show you exactly which locations you need to work on improving and which areas you can look at enhancing. For example, if you are having problems with your spouse, it may be that the toilet is located in the relationship area which is not in an inauspicious sector of your number chart. By ensuring that the door to this room is always closed and that the seat is always kept in the down position, you can reduce the loss of good energy down the bowl.

As someone just starting out, it’s very important to understand the basic principles of how Feng Shui relates to the space or area that we live in such as our homes or offices before we include time into the equation.

The best place to start is by understanding the symbols and the concepts of Feng Shui. There are really onto two concepts that you will need to understand and they are

The concept of cosmic breath, “Chi”, referred to as “Energy” by the West.

The five elements that make up the world and their direct relationship to each other.

There are also symbols which you will come to know and the most common of these are

The Pa Kua

The Eight trigrams of the I Ching

The Lo Shu magic square.

These principles and symbols are universal to Feng Shui, no matter what school you choose to follow. They are very important for your understanding how the Chinese perceive the world and how the universal energy affects every human beings destiny.

Chi is considered to be the vital energy that surrounds all things. This energy can be harnessed and used to improve any aspect of your life. Chi is created in nature by the gentle meandering flow of water, by the shape of a beautiful mountain and by many other elements within nature.
